IT IS ONE OF THE FLAGS THAT FLUTTERED IN THE STREETS OF IASI CITY IN THE NAME OF FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY IN DECEMBER 1989!
It is one of the flags that fluttered in the streets of Iasi city in the name of freedom and democracy in December 1989! It is a privilege for me to have it as a gift. I want to thank Mr. Mitică Ungureanu who must have carried it hopefully in those days. Thirty years have passed since then, we started a new stage enthusiastically in that memorable winter but we have understood along the way that it is difficult to keep certain rights, not only to obtain them. We do not have roads, hospitals and schools like “abroad” yet, and the list is long. Just like before 1990, many Romanians still dream of emigrating. Nevertheless, this flag is a symbol that can help us understand where we are, where we can get and where we must never go back.
